Chateau Huahao / Ningxia Huahao Winery Co., Ltd.

Familiar Collection Marselan by Bodega Huahao 2023

Huahao Marselan Family Collection 2023 is a dry red wine made from Marselan, sourced from the vineyards of Chateau Huahao located in Ganchengzi, in the eastern foothills region of the Helan Mountains, Ningxia.

The plots are located approximately between 1,100 and 1,200 meters of altitude. The harvest is done manually and late, usually between late September and early October, with a double selection of bunches, first in the vineyard and then in the winery.

Winemaking begins with cold maceration and controlled fermentation between 22 and 26 °C. According to winery documentation, only necessary enological products are used, such as yeasts, pectic enzymes, and SO₂.

The wine undergoes 12 months of aging in new barrels, with a composition of 80% French oak and 20% American oak, followed by a period of approximately 36 months of bottle aging.

In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color and a complex aromatic expression, marked by black fruit, violets, vanilla, cream, licorice, and sweet spices. On the palate, it stands out for its round texture and its fine and silky tannins, with a long and persistent finish.

The presentation is completed with a heavy-format dark green bottle, a dark red wax-sealed capsule, a 49 mm natural cork, and a custom wooden case for six bottles.
