Liumugao Blended Dry Red Wine 2023 is a dry red blend produced by Chateau Huahao, in Ningxia, from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot grapes sourced from approximately 20-year-old vineyards.
The grapes come from the Ganchengzi area, in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, at an approximate altitude of 1,100–1,200 meters. The cultivation of old vines is characterized by strict yield control, set at around 300–400 kg per mu, aiming for high concentration and quality of the grapes.
The harvest is done manually and late, typically between late September and early October, with a double selection, both in the vineyard and later in the winery. Production begins with low-temperature maceration and controlled fermentation between 22 and 26 °C.
The wine undergoes 18 months of aging in French oak barrels, followed by a period of bottle aging before its release to the market.
In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals ripe red and black fruit, black pepper, and toasted oak notes. On the palate, it is round, full, and balanced, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish.
It comes in a heavy, dark green Bordeaux bottle, with a red wax capsule and natural cork. The standard export format is six 750 ml bottles in a custom wooden case.
