Chateau Huahao is located in the Ganchengzi sub-zone, on the eastern slope of Helan Mountain, Ningxia. With plantations since 2003 and founded in 2006, the winery specializes in the Marselan variety.

It is one of the benchmark boutique wineries in the D.O. Qingtongxia. After owner Cheng Qian took control in 2018, the winery defined a strategy around the Marselan: a 50-hectare complex with an underground cellar, tasting room, oenological experience center, fermentation and bottling rooms.

Located at the southern end of Helan, the winery sits on sierozem soils, sandy soil and coal mine stone, with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and thermal amplitudes above 15°C. Recognised as a demonstration vineyard of the Autonomous Region since 2011, it pioneered the mass planting of Marselan in 2014 and appointed first-class winemaker Jiang Tao as technical consultant in 2015.

Manual late harvesting, grain by grain selection, cold maceration and ageing in French oak define the style. The annual capacity is 300,000 bottles (≈ 200,000 from Marselan). It has more than 100 international and national awards, including 8 Grand Golds and 6 first places; highlights include the first Grand Gold of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Marselan (2023), entry into the Hurun Top 50 of Chinese wineries (2024) and the certification of conversion to organic (2025), with biodynamics in preparation.
