Devo Winery Co. Ltd.
Located in Ningxia, China, Devo Winery is the country’s first local boutique brand specializing in traditional sparkling wines, produced primarily from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties.
PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Planting Area: Xiajinshan Production Area of Helan Mountain “Sleeping Buddha”, adjacent to Jinshan Wine Town and west of Turandot Wine Town
Vineyard age: Central park trees from 9 to 13 years old (first planted in 2013), some plots from 6 to 8 years old (extended after 2017)
Climate: The climate is continental, dry with little precipitation (annual precipitation<200 mm), abundant sunlight, large temperature differences between day and night, and irrigation by the Yellow River, which helps to accumulate grape flavor compounds
Soil: The fan alluvial relief formation features a mixture of heavy gravel and sand, offering good breathability, excellent drainage and rich in minerals

Philosophy
Traditional French sparkling wine production with characteristics of the Ningxia terrain.
The winery
The owner, Zhai Liang, a native of Yinchuan, opted to create a 100% traditional sparkling wine cellar in his hometown, driven by his love of champagne and sparkling wine.
Devo Winery has worked closely with the School of Food and Wine of Ningxia University, with PhD Director, Professor Jin Gang, leading a team of graduate students in wine technology and microbiology involved in winemaking
The winery’s vineyard is located in the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, in the Jinshanzi Productive Zone of Helan County, Yinchuan City. At an altitude of 1,192 meters above sea level, with an average annual rainfall of about 200 mm, it requires burying the vines in the ground in winter. The Dewo Vineyard is located on the gentle slope closest to the foot of the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain, at the highest altitude in the production area.
Currently, Devo Winery has more than 20 hectares of vineyard, as from 2024 it began planting the Meunier variety. Currently, new vineyards are planted every year, and yields gradually increase. 2018 was Devo’s first vintage, and it has produced several sparkling wines, including MV Blend, Vintage Blanc de Blanx, Vintage Vintage Blanc de Blux, and Rosé.

By the end of 2025, the winery’s products have entered more than 40 Michelin-starred restaurants and more than a dozen luxury hotel brands in Asia, including the three-star Michelin Amber Hong Kong and Asia’s number one restaurant Grand Restaurant; InterContinental Hotels Group, Mandarin Oriental, Rosewood Hong Kong, The Ritz-Carlton, etc.
In 2025, Devo Winery was the only Chinese wine representative to participate in the China-France cultural exchange event held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
In early 2026, Devo established strategic cooperation in mainland China with ASC Fine Wines, a major boutique wine importer in China.
